Who runs this site

MonoStudy is built and run by a solo developer. I handle the planning, development, and operation of the MonoStudy app, as well as writing every article in this site's study column, on my own. The app is available on iOS (App Store) and as a web app, and I keep shipping feature updates, bug fixes, and new and revised articles on an ongoing basis.

Studying only pays off if you keep at it, and keeping at it is the hard part. That idea is where this project started. MonoStudy grew out of my own struggles with studying: I built an app that cuts the friction of logging your work down to almost nothing, and I write practical articles on how to actually stick with studying over time.

What this site is for

This site serves two purposes.

• Introducing and providing MonoStudy, a study-tracking app (try the browser version)
• Publishing articles on tracking study time, focus, memorization, and building a study habit

Editorial policy

Every article is written by the site's operator. These are the principles behind them.

• Grounded in practice — Articles draw on my own experience tracking and sustaining study habits, along with feedback from people who use the app, and aim to be concrete enough to act on right away.
• No exaggeration — You won't find claims like "works for everyone", "guaranteed", or "in just N days". When articles touch on widely known ideas from learning science — the forgetting curve, spaced practice, retrieval practice — they present them as general knowledge rather than definitive fact.
• No invented numbers — I don't cite statistics or research findings I can't verify.
• Advice by situation — For topics where the best answer depends on your life — students, working adults, irregular schedules — articles lay out the options by situation instead of pushing a single "right" answer.

Updates and corrections

Each article shows its publication date. When an article is revised or expanded, its updated date changes, and corrections that alter the meaning are noted in the text. If you spot an error, please let me know through the contact page; I'll check it and correct it.

Advertising

This site may show ads through Google AdSense. Ad revenue goes toward covering the cost of running the app and the site. Whether ads appear never influences the content or conclusions of any article, and no article is written to push a particular product or service.
